Beach House Addition Renovation - Hampton, New Hampshire

This 3 bedroom Hampton NH home is currently being renovated with an expected completion by late spring.

Architect's Notes and Ideas:

- The floor plan is designed for open living with cathedral ceilings throughout.

- A focus was placed on efficient living and maximizing available square footage. Designs and details that were integrated to maximize use of space inlcude pocket doors, overhead storage shelves in the master bedroom, and an efficient floor plan that eliminates corridors.

- Aesthetic updates to the exterior include new roof lines, siding, and windows.

- New porches were designed at both entries. The gables at each porch helps to add visual interest to the home.

- Energy improvements and upgrades that the architect, owner, and builder incorporated include spray foam insulation, new doors and windows, a heating and central air conditoning system, and electrical systems throughout.

- There is ample natural light thoughout.

- The addition program includes: a new bathroom, bedroom and entry room. The updated home now features 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, with a generous kitchen and living area.

Brentwood Fire Station - Brentwood, NH

TRH Design completed architectural design services for a new fire station in Brentwood, NH. Construction is well underway and the building shell is nearly complete. The project is scheduled to be fully complete by November 2010.

TRH Design collaborated with the town and contractor on designing this 14,000 sf facility. The fire station features 9 truck bays, meeting rooms, office space, a training room, and living facilities for full time fire personnel.

Camp Yavneh - Multi-purpose building - Progress Photos

The new multi-purpose for camp yavneh is nearly complete. The facility's structure consists of insulated concrete form (ICF) walls, exposed timber trusses, and light wood framing. The exterior materials palette consists of stone and wood to compliment the rustic character of the camp.

Bagmill Renovation Project - Gilman, VT

As part of an overall redevelopment plan for this former paper mill complex, TRH Design is working with the owner on converting the bagmill building into a manufacturing facility for renewable energy products. In addition to manufacturing, the plans for the building include studio spaces and housing.

The bagmill renovation is part of an overall vision to revitalize this complex and create a renewable energy park.

Other plans for the development include a hydropower facility and bio-mass power plant.Realizing the vision will be a joint venture and effort from private business, government, and the community. TRH Design is collaborating with these entities on exploring viable ideas and plans for this important infrastructure project.

Canaan Schools Connector Addition - Canaan, VT

Freeport Maine - Retail Building Renovation

Located in historic Freeport, Maine, TRH Design provided architectural services for this conversion of an existing residential building into shell space for a commercial use: retail, restaurant, or office space.

The renovations include new shingle siding, a new roof, and the addition of two dormers to provide ample natural light and ventilation.

Accessibility upgrades are also planned as part of the project.

Center For Assessment

TRH Design completes schematic design for the Center For Assessment in Dover, New Hampshire.

The project is a conversion of an existing church to The National Center for the Improvement of Educational Assessment headquarters. The program includes office space, conference rooms, an exercise room, and support spaces.

Exterior renovations will include repairing and refinishing the existing siding and trim, window and roof replacement, landscaping, terraced steps, parking lot and sidewalk improvements.

The project will also feature a geo thermal heating system with building envelope improvements. Mechanical, electrical, life safety and accessibility upgrades are also planned for the project.

Canaan Elementary School Addition - Canaan, VT
